Initiative Tracker

As part of the campaign load an initiative toolbar is created (one for the GM one for players). These are based on TR’s toolbar but I have added the ready and hold action buttons, as well as splitting the add to initiative and start combat side of things. This means players can add their own tokens to the initiative rather than it all being down to the GM.

When it is a players turn they can choose to hold or ready and action, which will set the status. Outside of their initiative action they can then come out of ready / hold. If it is a ready the initiative will then be passed to them, for hold they will then be next in the initiative. If a character doesn’t use their held action or ready they are returned to initiative on their next pass. So if they want to remain in a ready then they need to select it again.

The GM has control of the initiative for moving I to the next token and stating / ending the combat. Each of the buttons works as follows:-

End Combat (GM Only)
This ends the current combat, removes all tokens from the initiative order and resets the round count

Add to Combat
This adds the selected token(s) to the intitiative panel. It references the initiative property of the tokens and displays that the roll that will be made. The initiative is then rolled (1D20+initiative) and the initiative value /100 added to the roll.

Start Combat (GM only)
This starts the combat. All the tokens in the initiative window will be sorted numerically and the round counter set to 1. The first token will be selected and will have the ‘active’ template added to it.

Resort Initiative (GM only)
This Resorts the nititiative without resetting the round count or the current initiative – useful for when new combatants enter initiative

Next Initiative (GM Only)
This moves the combat to the next token in the initiative. The active template will be moved to the new token and it will be selected.

Ready Action
This sets / triggers a ready action. Setting a ready can only be done when the token has initiative, triggering a readied action can only occur if the token has a readied action and it is not their initiative.
When a token readies an action the ‘ready’ template will be shown on the token and the token will be set to hold in the initiative panel. If the ready is not triggered by the time that token’s initiative is reached on the next round then the ready action is automatically cancelled and the token is treated as normal.
When a ready is triggered, by pressing the button outside of that token’s initiative, the token’s initiative is adjusted to just before the current initiative and then selected as the active token.

Hold Action
This sets / triggers a held action. Setting a hold action can only be done when the token has initiative, triggering a held action can only occur if the token has a held action and it is not their initiative.
When a token readies an action the ‘Hold’ template will be shown on the token and the token will be set to hold in the initiative panel. If the held action is not triggered by the time that token’s initiative is reached on the next round then the ready action is automatically cancelled and the token is treated as normal.
When a held action is triggered, by pressing the button outside of that token’s initiative, the token’s initiative is adjusted to just after the current initiative.

Show timers
This brings up the timer window that is used to track timers that have been set in the tool.

Add Timer
This adds a new timer to the timer window.

+ Round (GM Only)
This moves the timer on by one round (This occurs automatically when initiative is active)

  • +Minute (GM Only)*
This moves the timer on by one or more minutes

+ Hour (GM Only)
This moves the timer on by one or more hours

Stop (GM Only)
This stops and clears all timers

Timer display
This is the current timer displayed as Hours:minutes.rounds
